The website will officially open on Labor Day, Monday, September 1st. The launch will be commemorated with a special Lesbian 411.info commercial spot that will run from August 25 - 31st during the prime time evening hours on BET, TV1, LOGO, and Oxygen channels. The website combines a member and promoter networking platform with an interactive blog center that creates a sensory overload with multi-media entertainment state of the art technology!

"The creation of Lesbian 411.info was cultivated from a desire to see women of color in the forefront on a popular online portal. For years we've seen our faces here and there, intermittently dispersed amongst the many faces of our white counterparts. But do the few profiles on women of color reflect a small community? Absolutely not!" Creative Director, Shonia Brown, explains.

Lesbian 411.info offers a plethora of unique features, including a member and promoter platform, blog center, LGBTIQ repository of books, films, music, and videos, 24-hour Internet radio programming, top music and video click-lists, entertainment e-mag, and much more! The main purpose of the site is to increase the visibility and unity among lesbian women of color, and the gay and straight community as a whole.

"We started developing the site four months ago as more of great idea conversation over tea and then the creative juices started to flow straight towards international waters where we discovered our talented and dynamic web development team. Since that idea has taken fruition, we have developed a solid team of sales and marketing, promotions, graphic designers, music producers, writers, and event planners. Our business family continues to evolve along with the website as more and more enhancements are in the works," Ms. Brown explains.

Since its pre-launch webpage was posted at www.lesbian411.info and its Myspace webpage at www.myspace.com/lesbian411.info, the community has been extremely supportive. Registrations for our preliminary signups are constantly flowing in and written and verbal feedback has been provided from members, artists, business affiliates, and community leaders who hold the same belief, that the website is truly needed. Gay-friendly artists like Chante Moore and Lalah Hathaway have also given the website their blessing through recent interviews on L411 Radio. Those interviews are only the beginning of a long line of celebrities that will bless the site with their presence.

Although the website officially opens on September 1st, pre-opening festivities will take place during the Atlanta Black Pride week - August 25-Sept. 1st. More information will follow regarding special L411 Events across the country that will include the talents of popular singers and musicians both within the gay and straight communities.
